Operational Readiness & Training Compliance Framework
Project Overview: Developed a standardized, phase-based Training Readiness Checklist designed to synchronize digital LMS onboarding with physical operational milestones for high-volume New Store Openings (NSOs).
Context & Business Need: In a multi-brand franchise environment, the "speed-to-market" for new locations often creates a gap in training compliance. Without a structured roadmap, store openings face risks such as inconsistent guest experiences, safety violations, and administrative backlog. I designed this framework to provide Franchise Partners and Operations Leads with a "Command Center" view of team readiness to ensure a "Gold Standard" launch on Day 1.
Audience & Stakeholders: * Franchise Partners: To track investment readiness and labor ROI.
Brand Operations Managers: To verify brand-standard execution across multiple sites.
Team Members: To provide a clear, transparent pathway from hire to certification.
Your Role & Contribution: As the Instructional Design Manager, I performed a "backward design" analysis, starting from the successful Day 1 opening and working back to the initial hiring phase. I converted complex operational requirements into four distinct, actionable phases that align digital learning with on-the-floor performance.
Process Artifacts: * Phased Implementation Roadmap: A 30-day chronological guide that prioritizes high-impact training (Food Safety/Leadership) before technical skills.
Multi-Modal Compliance Tracking: A system that integrates LMS data with physical "Station Certification" sign-offs.
Post-Launch Feedback Loop: A 30-day debrief protocol to identify and remediate training gaps in real-time.
Tools Used: * Graphic Design Suite: Used to create high-legibility, "at-a-glance" visual documentation.
LMS Architecture: Designed to support the phased enrollment and reporting required for franchise scalability.
Results & Impact: This framework transforms the "chaos" of a new opening into a disciplined, repeatable process. By providing clear milestones, it:
Ensures 100% Compliance: Mandates safety and leadership certification before equipment access is granted.
Standardizes the Brand: Guarantees that a guest at a new location receives the same experience as at an established site.
Reduces Administrative Friction: Gives managers a single source of truth for training status, allowing them to focus on operational execution.
Reflections & Iterations: Future iterations of this checklist will include QR-code integration at each equipment station, allowing team members to access "just-in-time" microlearning videos directly from the field, further reducing the need for constant manager supervision during the NSO window.
